Departmental Overview
Educational Technology Services (ETS) enhances and supports the UC Berkeley academic experience by providing essential, responsive, and innovative technology services. The unit directly improves and supports educational technology on the UC Berkeley campus through its implementations of technology in general assignment classrooms, local implementation of a variety of learning systems including the campus' learning management system, student portal, and webcast.berkeley.edu, technology support for academic events and scholarly activities, video production and distribution, and services that support online collaboration.
ETS is looking for a few talented, professional, customer friendly, AV Technicians to round out our Events and Production team and help us provide exceptional support for a variety of different types of events and conferences on campus.

Incumbent will be responsible for reviewing and assessing requirements for each job in project database; following up with Technical Coordinator, co-workers and client to ensure clear understanding of exact needs; pulling, packing and safely transporting gear to job site.
Responsible for maintaining a clean production environment; providing friendly and professional customer service to client onsite; setup and operation of a variety of A/V equipment to include cameras, PA speakers, microphones, mixers, projectors, laptops, switchers, scalers, digital recording devices, etc.; maintaining a log of production details that will be used as a guide during the post production process; and assist project producer as needed.
Responsible for breaking down and cleaning up gear at the completion of an event; restoring event venue to original condition; transporting gear, unpacking and ensuring neat and orderly storage of equipment; notifying Technical Coordinator of any issues with equipment or problems that occurred onsite; uploading logs to project database.
Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Experience with projection setup and laptop integration/capture
Experience with signal routing and signal flow
Live audio production experience. Assuming multiple sources, 10 channel mixer, balanced/unbalanced, indoor/outdoor, output distribution
Excellent AV troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Knowledge of AMX panel integration
General PC and MAC skills like control panel setups, Microsoft Office, Keynote and Power Point
Ability to lift heavy objects
Salary & Benefits
Salary commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for UC benefits plan.

Other Information
This is a part-time, on call position, with the availability to work up to 20 hours per week.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
