Departmental Overview
The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics consists of more than 275 staff members and coaches and sponsors 30 varsity sports programs. These 30 programs include more than 850 student-athletes who participate in the various sports programs annually within the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA). We are currently seeking an Assistant Director, Ticket Operations.
Description of Position: Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced intercollegiate athletics professional with a full understanding of collegiate ticketing operations and campus/department policies and procedures to plan, administer, and coordinate the daily operations of a complex program and/or activity. Resolves a wide range of issues of diverse scope and complexity. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Serves as a resource for other ticket office staff and supervises student employees.
Independently plans, organizes, administers and implements ticketing operations for assigned sport teams: Acts as liaison with coaches, director of operations, student-athletes, Events Management, Facilities, and Marketing for each sport, as necessary. Responds to customer inquiries and problems via email, window, day of game, or phone. Provide support in all operational aspects for post season games home and away. Primary sport supervisor for Baseball and Volleyball, while secondary sport supervisor for Men's Basketball.
Manages all game-day operations for assigned sport teams. Responsible for the set-up of auxiliary box offices. Works with Event Management to ensure security needs are met for the event. Manages player guest admissions, media pass list, recruit admissions, will call admissions, and game-day ticket sales. Responds to customer service issues and ensures secure transportation of monies to and from the Athletic Ticket Office. Maintains accurate records for attendance calculations. Analyzes and implements new or revised standard operating procedures for game day ticket operations for assigned sports.
Oversees and supervise all ticket sales and customer service issues at Ticket Office windows and on site at athletic events. Ensure excellent customer service is being maintained daily by student workers via the phone, window, and email. Balances and reconciles ticket sales made at the windows and on site at events.
Print all tickets for Football, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Volleyball and Baseball. This includes, but is not limited to Print at Home, Thermal tickets, as well as season tickets and parking.
Manages and updates the Athletic Ticket Office's Google Drive with sales and promotional information. This includes all seller sheets and any other important sales information.
Required Qualifications
Thorough knowledge of collegiate ticketing industry and best practices.
Ability to multi-task, work with frequent interruptions, and effective listener.
Good judgment and effective decision-making and problem resolution skills, including skill to recognize and deal effectively and appropriately with real and potential problem areas, including skill to determine the issues/problems that need to be brought to the attention of higher level staff and/or management.
Highly effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language. Must be able to interact respectfully and communicate in a polite and professional manner with the public and department personnel via phone, written correspondence, or in person.
Strong customer service skills over the telephone, in person, and through written communication.
Must be proficient in the use of basic computer applications. Working knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
Substantial knowledge of Paciolan Ticketing System and other ticketing systems. Working knowledge of the University's and Department's cash handling policies.
Must be self-motivated, organized, punctual, self-starter and reliable.
Must maintain current knowledge of applicable rules and standards of the Pacific-12 Conference, National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), as well as other associations and agencies to which the Berkeley campus of the University of California adheres, and, at all times avoid any and all violations of these rules and standards.
Education and Training:
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Paciolan Ticketing System training.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
