Role DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced field test engineer to support the development of Form Energy s groundbreaking battery system.
In this role, you will be embedded within the Systems product development organization and will work closely with engineers to install, commission, test, and troubleshoot our early phase fielded prototypes.
Daily activities will include creative problem solving, data analysis, and collaboration with design engineers.
The ideal candidate will have an aptitude for solving real world problems, creating rigorous documentation, and a strong foundation of technical skills.

What you'll do:
Define, manage, and execute a test program that aligns with product verification goalsCollaborate with design engineers to define test procedures and performance metricsMaintain documentation of test goals, procedures, and outcomesMaintain data integrity across software-defined data pipelines, external data acquisition systems, and ad-hoc field measurements Work with design engineers and field technicians to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware issues and software bugsAnalyze data from completed tests and communicate findings to design engineers and other stakeholdersEstablish standard processes for commissioning, diagnostics, and maintenance that are implemented by internal Project Engineering and Operations teamsUp to 50% domestic travel to prototype project sitesWhat you'll bring:
Bachelor s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or similar5
years experience with field applications of power systems, including commissioning, testing, and troubleshootingExperience working with communications protocols, particularly Modbus TCP, DNP3, MQTTDemonstrated experience leading root cause analysis for electrical systems such as inverters, power distribution components, and energy storage systems.
