Role DescriptionForm Energy is hiring a Battery Test Engineer to join the Test Development team.
As part of this team, you will be integral in proving out our full scale cell and battery module performance.
You will own battery test design, troubleshooting, and data delivery and become an in-house expert on normal battery behavior.
We are a hands-on team who all love diving into hard problems, such as test troubleshooting, and then designing out these problems for future tests.

Own battery performance testing from experimental questions through data delivery.
Develop test protocols, support technicians with cell and module installation and commissioning, maintain data quality, troubleshoot test execution issues with technicians, and make engineering decisions to provide high quality data to internal customers.
Collaborate closely with internal teams, including product development, battery performance, test operations, test infrastructure and manufacturing to understand test requirements and address any technical challenges.
Work closely with internal software teams to maintain and improve in-house cycler control software and to identify and solve data pipeline problems.
Monitor the performance of battery tests and troubleshoot issues as they arise, implementing corrective actions to maintain test continuity.
Generate detailed reports and data visualizations to communicate test results and insights to internal stakeholders.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of test processes and methodologies, incorporating industry best practices and emerging technologies.
What you'll bring:
Bachelor's degree in technical field.
Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or similar preferred.
Proven experience in battery test design and execution and electrochemical data analysis.
Significant experience with Python or other scripted programming languages for both instrument control and data analysis and visualization.
JMP and/or SQL mastery also valued.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability to troubleshoot a wide variety of complex technical issues within a fast-paced startup environment and to support technicians doing this.
Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams, proactively gathering stakeholder input to projects, and supporting various projects where your skills are valued.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously, and to build systems to track progress and capture learnings.
