SUMMARY OF ROLE The Payroll Specialist is a key role that ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll activities at GU Energy Labs.
This role is responsible for managing the bi-weekly payroll process, setting up new hires, payroll reporting, and 401k contributions.
As a part of the People and Culture team, the Payroll Specialist will report to the HR Manager and work collaboratively with the HR team on other payroll and benefits projects.
GU Energy labs is primarily based in California and has employees in other states.

This is a hybrid, part-time role with 18-20 hours of work expected and weekly in-office work required.

Audit timecards, review entries and verify accuracy of data Work with Managers on timecard discrepancies Process bi-weekly payroll including maintenance of employee information (deductions, garnishments, direct deposits and support orders), review earnings and process payroll reports Process final pay requests and ensure pay is issued in accordance with California law Investigate and resolve issues, questions and discrepancies in employee paychecks Report wages to our Worker's Compensation Carrier Process 401k payroll contribution funding within IRS timeline Collaborate with other teams to resolve payroll related issues Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance by staying up to date on state and federal wage and hour laws We are excited about you because you:
Have 4

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
