Position
Summary:
We are currently looking for a driven and self-motivated individual to join our Production team as the Head of Production.
In this multifaceted role, you will oversee various aspects of our production facility, including the production of cold brew coffee, other beverages, and coffee roasting.
You will enjoy a high level of autonomy, with a primary focus on maintaining the quality and integrity of our products.
Key
Responsibilities:
Maintain a Pristine Production Environment:
Ensure the production environment and warehouse are kept in impeccable condition.
Operational Preparedness:
Communicate with management to understand daily objectives and maintain an organized workflow.
Quality Assurance and Safety:
Conduct Clean-In-Place (CIP) procedures on tanks and equipment while adhering to safety guidelines.
Produce cold brew coffee and other beverages to precise specifications.
Operate transfer and centrifugal pumps.
Maintain brite tanks and handle carbonation and nitrogenation processes.
Collaborate with management to ensure production schedules align with demand and packaging requirements.
Prioritize safety and ensure a secure working environment.
Equipment and Facility Maintenance:
Assist in cleaning cellar areas, equipment, floors, and tools to meet sanitation standards.
Document, cleaning, calibration, packaging, brewing, and maintenance tasks.
Clean, sanitize, transport, and organize kegs.
Organize and maintain the walk-in cooler.
Organize brewery equipment, supplies, and ancillary items.
Receive, manage, and document inventory for ingredients and products.
Assist with product deliveries to the main distribution center in Oakland.
Support lab testing and other Quality Assurance activities.
Assist with warehouse duties at the main warehouse as needed.
Required Experience and Skills:
Minimum 1 year of experience in a commercial production brewery, brewpub, or food manufacturing plant is essential (not an entry-level position).
Passion for coffee and an interest in coffee roasting (training provided).
Strong industry passion and a commitment to personal and professional growth.
Basic knowledge and experience with cellar tasks, including chemical handling, CIP procedures, cleaning, sanitization, and keg filling.
Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Basic computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
Willingness to document tasks throughout the day and follow scheduling instructions.
Positive interaction with colleagues, employees, and external parties.
Task prioritization, daily schedule optimization, and teamwork capabilities.
Understanding of basic quality assurance (QA) methods and cleaning procedures in a production environment.
Willingness to maintain consistent communication with the team through email, text, and company messaging platforms.
Commitment to following established SOPs/protocols and assisting in their development.
Positive attitude, a thirst for learning, and excellent communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to engage in heavy physical labor, including hose handling, scrubbing, and working in uncomfortable positions.
Capacity to stand and walk on hard surfaces for extended periods.
Comfort working in a consistently loud environment.
Capability to work safely with potentially hazardous chemicals.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
Willingness to adhere to all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and safety protocols without exception.

Salary Range:
